SCADA Engineer Building Services Automation, Tier 1 Contractor If you care about clean screens, reliable alarms, solid networks, and systems that stay online , read on. This team is is expanding its Control and Instrumentation capability and is looking for a hands on SCADA Engineer to deliver large scale building services and smart infrastructure projects. This is not screen polishing in isolation. You will be close to PLCs, networks, commissioning, and the people who actually use the system. What you will actually be doing Designing and developing SCADA and HMI systems using platforms such as Citect, Ignition, PanelView, Siemens, and EcoStruxure Building intuitive, operator friendly screens using proper HMI and UX best practice , not rainbow mimic diagrams Configuring alarms, reporting, redundancy, and failover that actually work when things go wrong Commissioning SCADA systems on site, troubleshooting live issues, and owning outcomes Integrating SCADA with PLC systems, including logic interaction, configuration, and function blocks Working across Ethernet IP, Modbus TCP and RTU, Profinet, Profibus, OPC UA , and serial communications Designing and supporting industrial networks including managed switches, VLANs, segmentation, and redundancy Implementing practical cyber security measures such as user access control, patch management, and secure remote access Leading client presentations, FATs, SATs, and running user training that does not put people to sleep What matters here You have strong, hands on SCADA and HMI development experience , not just theory You understand how PLCs, networks, and SCADA actually interact in the real world You care about alarm quality, system uptime, and operator usability You are comfortable commissioning systems on site and solving problems under pressure You can explain complex systems clearly to clients, operators, and engineers You want to work on BMS, HVAC, and complex building services systems , not conveyor belts forever Background we are open to Degree qualified in Electrical, Mechatronics, Control Systems, Automation, or Instrumentation Engineering Or a strong electrical or instrumentation trade background with deep SCADA and PLC experience Accreditations in cyber security are nice to have, not mandatory, real world competence matters more What this is, and what it is not This is a Tier 1 environment with proper engineering standards and long term project pipeline This is not a SCADA babysitting role or a pure desk job This is exposure to new platforms, system upgrades, integration work, OPC UA, and modern industrial networks Why this role works You build systems that operators actually trust You work with experienced controls engineers, not in isolation You get involved end to end, design, build, commission, train You see your work running live systems, not screenshots in a folder If you like responsibility, variety, and seeing your work operated in the real world, this role will suit you.
