Early Learning Victoria (ELV) is currently seeking passionate and dedicated professionals to join a purpose-built 57-place Early Learning Centre in Portland South that provides childcare and kindergarten services for children aged 0–6 years. We have several opportunities available, including immediate start casual relief roles and ongoing permanent positions. These roles offer the chance to work in a supportive environment focused on delivering high-quality early childhood education and care. Immediate Start – Casual Relief Roles The following roles are available to start ASAP: Centre Cook – Portland Casual relief role for approximately 3–4 weeks Key Responsibilities Plan and prepare nutritious meals and snacks for children using a rotating menu (recipes provided) Ensure meals meet dietary requirements, allergies and cultural needs Maintain kitchen cleanliness and food safety standards Order food supplies and manage stock within budget Maintain and update the Food Safety Program Requirements Certificate in Food Handling Food Safety Supervisor Certificate Current Working with Children Check First Aid, CPR, Anaphylaxis and Asthma certificates (or willingness to obtain) Ability to work independently in the kitchen Experience in childcare, aged care or healthcare catering preferred Diploma Qualified Educator – Portland Casual start with the potential to move into a permanent role Key Responsibilities Support the delivery of high-quality early childhood education programs Create engaging learning experiences aligned with the Early Years Learning Framework Maintain positive relationships with children, families and colleagues Always ensure the safety and wellbeing of children Requirements Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care Current Working with Children Check First Aid, CPR, Anaphylaxis and Asthma certificates (or willingness to obtain) Knowledge of EYLF and National Quality Framework Strong communication and teamwork skills Certificate III Educator – Portland Casual start with the potential to move into a permanent role Key Responsibilities Assist educators in delivering learning programs Support children's development through play-based learning Ensure a safe and nurturing environment for children Work collaboratively with the team and families Requirements Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care Current Working with Children Check First Aid, CPR, Anaphylaxis and Asthma certificates (or willingness to obtain) Passion for early childhood education Strong teamwork and communication skills Room Leader – Portland Casual start with the potential to move into a permanent leadership role Key Responsibilities Lead and mentor educators within the room Plan and implement educational programs aligned with EYLF Ensure compliance with the National Quality Standards Build strong partnerships with families and the Centre leadership team Requirements Diploma or bachelor’s in early childhood education and care Previous experience leading a room or team Current Working with Children Check First Aid, CPR, Anaphylaxis and Asthma certificates (or willingness to obtain) Strong leadership and organizational skills Permanent Roles Available We are also seeking candidates interested in ongoing permanent opportunities: Diploma Educator – Portland Certificate III Educator – Portland Room Leader – Portland These roles offer the opportunity to work in a modern, well-resourced early learning environment with strong support for professional development and career growth.
