This non bank lender in the HOme Loans sector has had significant growth in the last 5 years implementing many key changes to make it the market leader in its sector. Reporting to the General Counsel you will be part of an inhouse legal & Compliance team that works with some of the best people in the market. This role has plenty of scope to support your continued growth in a legal & Compliance counsel role within the lucrative Mortgages home loans sector. This role will be to use your legal background to provide accurate legal advice and counsel to the organisation working across multiple divisions in the areas of consumer and commercial credit. Responsibilities include: Provide legal advice in relation to a range of business and regulatory matters including contracts, regulatory and licensing Provide legal advice in the area of litigation and disputes Advisory work in due diligence Work with the legal team in the areas of drafting, reviewing and negotiation Work closely with the business on Compliance matters in terms of regulatory requirements Assist GC with maintenance of company records and registers and filing of documents Key to this role will be your ability to work in an in house legal environment, working closely with key stakeholders and be a self starter. This is an opportunity to use your legal background preferably from within the Mortgages, personal loans and Asset Finance. The successful candidate will be from a either a financial services inhouse role or stepping out of legal practice. You will also have excellent written and communication skills, be able to work under your own initiative and are results driven. A knowledge base in consumer credit Act, Privacy Act, and competition laws will be key. You also need to be able to work and engage with senior stakeholders in the business and externally.
