About the Role We are seeking experienced Riggers—Basic, Intermediate or Advanced—for the upcoming AMPOL Refinery Turnaround. Working closely with Crane Operators, Mechanical Teams, Supervisors and UGL/Ampol leadership, you will support lifting operations, equipment moves, shutdown maintenance tasks and high-risk refinery activities. The turnaround runs from Mid-July– September 2026, working a 6 days on / 1 day off roster Night shift on 50% of scope. You will play a key role in executing rigging tasks safely, efficiently and in line with strict refinery standards. What We Offer • Travel Reimbursement for DIDO • LAHA – Accommodation provided plus LAHA allowance. • 6/1 roster for the shutdown duration with Nightshift on 1 unit • Support NDE/NDT access arrangements, shutdown work sequencing, and task progression • Strong, supportive safety-first culture • Access to UGL learning and development programs. • Employee benefits, rewards, and long-term career pathway Key Responsibilities • Perform rigging tasks in a refinery shutdown environment including: – Lifting, moving, and positioning equipment and materials – Supporting crane operations and load movements – Assisting with mechanical maintenance and shutdown activities – Erecting and dismantling equipment, structures and lifting devices. • Ensure all rigging activities adhere to safe lifting practices, load limits, and approved lift plans. • Work alongside mechanical and project teams to support valves, lines, fittings, heat exchanger, and column maintenance tasks. • Conduct risk assessments, JSA participation, hazard identification, and pre-task planning. • Follow all Permit to Work, isolation and confined space entry requirements. • Communicate clearly with crane operators, spotters, and work groups to ensure controlled and safe movements. • Maintain equipment checks, tag inspections and rigging gear compliance. • Support NDE/NDT access arrangements, shutdown work sequencing, and task progression. About You • Certified Rigger – Basic, Intermediate or Advanced (valid HRWL). • Experience in oil refining, gas/chemical plants, or heavy industrial shutdowns. • Strong knowledge of safe lifting practices, crane operations, and equipment movements. • Ability to work around mechanical shutdown tasks including valves, lines, fittings, piping, and pressure equipment. • Understanding of high-risk work controls including confined space, W@H, hot work, and isolation processes. • Safety focused, physically capable and reliable in fast paced shutdown environments. • Strong communication and teamwork skills with the ability to follow detailed instructions.
