Job Description About the team and the role The Leasing and Business Development team is a focused and fast paced commercial team of industry experts who understand leasing, commercials and how to work with retailers to thrive in the Airport environment. Sydney Airport is seeking a Leasing & Business Development Manager to help shape and deliver our retail leasing strategy across one of Australia’s most dynamic commercial environments. Reporting to the Head of Leasing & Business Development, this role goes beyond traditional leasing. You’ll drive leasing strategies, lead complex negotiations, and work closely with internal and external partners to maximise commercial returns and enhance the passenger experience across our retail precincts. In this role, you will have the opportunity to Deliver retail leasing and business development strategies aligned to commercial and passenger objectives Lead negotiations for new leases, renewals and reconfigurations across all retail categories Drive competitive tenant selection to secure best‑in‑class operators Deliver leasing strategies for assigned precincts, including tenant mix and expiry risk management Manage EOI, RFP and tender processes Support budgeting, feasibility studies and revenue forecasting Build strong relationships with retail partners and internal stakeholders About you Deep industry knowledge with strong relationships across Australian and international retailers Proven experience in retail leasing, commercial property or retail development (5 years) Strong commercial acumen with a track record of successful negotiations and deal execution Experience developing and delivering leasing and business development strategies for long‑term success Confident stakeholder manager, comfortable operating in a complex, fast‑paced environment Motivated by delivering strong commercial outcomes while enhancing the passenger experience Experience in airport or travel retail environments is highly regarded Bachelor’s degree in Business, Property, Real Estate or a related field (Master’s preferred) What we offer To find out more about the amazing work environment here at SYD, be sure to check out the Join us section of Sydney Airport’s website, where you can also see more about our flexible culture and work practices, alongside our other Employee benefits , or take a look at our LinkedIn Sydney Airport: Life page .
