An experienced property professional with strong commercial or retail asset management experience. The role As the Assistant Portfolio Manager, you’ll support the Portfolio Manager in the end-to-end oversight of a multi-site retail portfolio. You’ll work closely with Centre Management, Retail Managers and key stakeholders to ensure assets are safe, compliant and commercially optimised. This role is hands on and people focused, requiring strong leadership, operational oversight and the ability to provide timely, accurate advice and reporting to clients. Key Responsibilities Support the day-to-day management of portfolio assets, maintaining strong site visibility through regular onsite visits and engagement with centre teams. Build and strengthen relationships with clients, retailers, councils and internal stakeholders, delivering clear and professional communication. Manage escalated tenant issues, oversee communication standards and ensure timely, effective resolution. Lead key portfolio processes including sales reporting oversight, insurance audits, rent up, bank guarantee compliance and risk/safety reviews. Review lease assignments, abatement requests and key documentation, preparing accurate and considered recommendations for the Portfolio Manager. Proactively communicate priorities, emerging issues and critical updates to ensure the Portfolio Manager is informed across all sites. Provide leadership support across sites during Retail Manager leave or peak workload periods, ensuring continuity, stability and consistent service levels. Act as a hands-on problem solver, stepping into operational tasks as needed and driving solutions that prevent issues from escalating. Support and mentor team members, contributing to performance development, KPI management and a positive team culture.
