About the role We are seeking experienced paralegals and/or legal administration professionals at the APS4 or APS5 level to join our Commonwealth Government client’s Property Team. The successful candidate should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment predominantly focused on property law, property leasing and property dispute resolution matters. An initial labour hire contract until 30 June 2026 is on offer, with possibility of extension. Candidates based in Canberra, ACT and available for full-time work are preferred. However, applicants located elsewhere or seeking part-time hours may be considered. Please note: only Australian citizens can be considered for this role. An existing Baseline (or above) security clearance will be highly regarded. Duties: Monitor the team inbox and coordinate workflow in line with team processes. Prepare and manage high?volume tasking requests to legal service providers for routine caveat/charge registrations, pension loan scheme matters, leasing tasks, and requests for advice. Support financial administration, including reviewing fee estimates, checking monthly invoices, and coordinating confirmation of services with business areas. Collate data and contribute to financial and invoicing reports. Maintain accurate filing and records in systems such as Content Manager and LEX with minimal supervision. Assist with preparing documentation and coordinating stakeholder meetings, including scheduling, distributing templates and taking notes. Provide general legal administrative support as needed, including legal research under supervision and broader branch admin tasks. Requisite skills/experience: Demonstrated experience in a paralegal and/or administration role, preferably within a government setting. Strong financial administrative skills and attention to detail. Ability to manage competing priorities and work in a high-volume team environment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, stakeholder management skills, and computer skills. Ability to follow direction and procedures, as well as initiative to improve administrative processes. Knowledge and understanding of Microsoft 365, Content Manager, and LEX legal management systems (or ability to obtain quickly).
