Azure Data Engineer, Contract Role Location, Brisbane We are working with a major organisation on a large scale data integration initiative within the green energy sector. The program has completed the architectural phase and is now moving into full build mode. This is an opportunity for an Azure Data Engineer to join the project team and help deliver a modern, scalable data platform. About the role You will be responsible for building data pipelines, integrating multiple source systems, and contributing to the overall data model that supports enterprise analytics. The work is hands on across Azure services, with a strong focus on performance, reliability, and secure data movement. Key responsibilities • Build and optimise pipelines using Azure Data Factory • Integrate SQL Server and other sources into Azure SQL environments • Develop data models and semantic layers to support reporting • Create and maintain DAX measures and support Power BI datasets • Contribute to CI and CD processes using Azure DevOps • Ensure data quality, governance, and secure access practices • Work closely with architects, analysts, and project teams throughout the build phase What we are looking for • Strong Azure Data Engineering experience • Proven background with SQL Server to Azure migrations • Hands on experience with ADF pipelines and orchestration • Experience with DAX and Power BI is highly regarded • Ability to work in a fast paced delivery environment • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills Why this role • High impact work within a fast growing sector • Modern Azure environment • Collaborative engineering team • Strong day rate and immediate start available
