What You Will Be Doing Lead Engineering Transformation: Drive the shift toward a cross-functional model, moving from platform-centric silos to a versatile "one-team" engineering cohort. Govern & Architect: Partner with leaders to embed "end-gate" quality controls, standardization, and architectural guardrails into the pre-delivery lifecycle. Platform Maturity: Act as a technical authority across complex ecosystems, driving forward delivery and engineering decisions to align with the long-term strategic architectural vision. Strategic Uplift: Identify and lead the implementation of automation or optimization opportunities, with a focus on cost, availability, and performance. Stakeholder Advocacy: Act as a trusted advisor to Executive leadership, collaborating closely with Tech Leads and Product Owners to navigate complex delivery challenges. Workforce Development: Coach and mentor senior engineering talent, fostering a learning mindset and ensuring the workforce is equipped for long-term technical sustainability. What They Are Looking For Engineering Roots: A deep-rooted background in software engineering (8 years) with the ability to "get into the detail" of technical conversations with Principal-level peers. Leadership Excellence: Proven track record of technical leadership, influencing senior executive stakeholders, and driving large-scale implementations from inception to production. Insurance/FS Expertise: Extensive experience within large enterprise environments, understanding the security, governance, and regulatory nuances of the industry. SDLC Mastery: Comprehensive knowledge of the end-to-end Software Development Lifecycle, particularly in complex, multi-platform environments utilizing Agile and Lean approaches. Technical Core Cloud: AWS (Mandatory). Infrastructure as Code: Terraform (Mandatory). Orchestration: Kubernetes or OpenShift (using Kustomize or Helm). Security & Tooling: Jenkins, CI/CD pipelines, and Hashicorp Vault (Secrets Management). Observability: Grafana (experience with Dynatrace or Splunk is a plus). Environment: Linux DMI Platforms; strong scripting skills in Python are essential.
