We’re looking for an experienced and priority-driven Financial Accountant to join our Finance Department, in our dog-friendly office. In this role you will be responsible for the preparation and the reporting of accounting and financial data. Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, you’ll bring your expertise across all areas of financial accountability. With strong customer service skills and a proactive mindset, you’ll have the opportunity to lead process improvement initiatives and make a meaningful impact within the team. You’ll thrive in a fast paced, high-volume environment where multitasking and prioritising come naturally. Key responsibilities include: Perform general accounting duties including day-to-day transactions postings, month end closing, monitoring accounts payable, accounting for prepayments and accruals. Maintain and post journals relating to intercompany transactions, ensuring accuracy and timely reconciliation. Take ownership of operating expense accounting, including preparing journals and reviewing coding for accuracy. Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations, investigate variances, and communicate findings to Finance Manager. Maintenance for the general ledger. Oversee the lease accounting records in accordance with relevant accounting standards (eg.,AASB 16/IFRS 16). Prepare and review monthly clinic profit and loss statements and provide variance analysis against budget. Ensure compliance with internal financial policies, procedures, controls, and systems. Perform other ad hoc tasks and responsibilities as required. About you You’re an experienced accounting professional with strong technical capability, advanced Excel skills, and exposure to multi-site operations across Australia and New Zealand. You combine attention to detail with clear communication, a proactive attitude, and the ability to meet deadlines in fast-paced environments.
