DevSecOps Engineer (Contract) Sydney | Hybrid | $1000/day inc. super We're partnering with a large organisation going through a major Azure uplift, with a strong focus on embedding DevSecOps as a core engineering capability. This is a hands-on contract where you'll come in, assess the current state, and drive improvements across platforms, pipelines and engineering practices. The role You'll work across platform, engineering and security teams to embed security into delivery from the ground up. It's not a governance role - you'll be in the detail with engineers, helping shape how things are built, tested and deployed. Key responsibilities Embed DevSecOps practices across Azure environments and delivery teams Integrate security into CI/CD pipelines using a shift-left approach Implement and optimise security tooling across build and release workflows Work with engineers to uplift secure coding and deployment practices Drive automation across security testing, compliance and controls Identify gaps in current processes and implement practical improvements Influence teams to adopt better DevSecOps ways of working Tech environment Azure (AKS, App Services, identity, networking) CI/CD (Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions) Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or Bicep) Containers and Kubernetes Security tooling (SAST, DAST, SCA, secrets management) What we're looking for Strong DevOps or Platform Engineering background in Azure environments Proven experience implementing DevSecOps practices in real-world settings Hands-on experience with CI/CD and integrating security into pipelines Experience with IaC and cloud-native architectures Ability to quickly assess environments and deliver improvements Strong stakeholder engagement across engineering and security Why this contract High-impact role with immediate delivery expectations Opportunity to drive DevSecOps adoption at scale Strong engineering environment with leadership buy-in $1000/day inc. super
