Job Description TOMRA Collection Australia is looking for a Repair & Maintenance Manager to take ownership of how our return points are repaired, maintained and kept running nationwide. In this role, you’ll lead the full repair and maintenance program from planning and resourcing through to contractor performance, safety, budgets and reporting. Working closely with our Service Centre (dispatch), Small Formats and Fitouts teams, you’ll help prioritise and schedule work, reduce risk, improve uptime and speed of repairs, and continuously improve how we operate at scale. Please note this role is offered as a 12 month Fixed Term Contract Some other duties you may perform include: Build, coach and manage Repair & Maintenance Coordinator, fostering a positive, safe, supportive, high‑performance culture. Set objectives and KPIs (uptime, MTTR, SLA adherence, cost per work order) and run weekly/ monthly reviews with corrective actions. Provide clear prioritisation and escalation paths; ensure hand‑offs with Service Centre dispatch are timely and accurate. Maintain a national, risk‑based program of works including minor works, reactive repairs and site shutdowns for high‑risk items. Create/review scopes, finalise work orders, and sequence jobs to minimise downtime and customer impact; leverage economies of scale across regions and teams. Manage complex work orders Identify patterns in recurring issues and root causes; propose preventative solutions and design changes in partnership with Product Experts and Operations. Standardise scopes, close‑out reporting and documentation to streamline execution and learning loops. Manage repair & maintenance budget, tracking actuals vs plan, forecast, and implement cost controls (bundling, standardised rates, parts reuse); reporting on financial performance to Senior Project Manager and GM of each state Ensure approvals align with the Chart of Authorities (COA) and reporting expectations, escalating where required Contractor Management: source, engage and manage contractors: pre‑qualification, onboarding, compliance documentation (SWMS, insurances, inductions) and performance reviews. Stakeholder relations: build relationships and work closely with operations team to foster a collaborative team environment with agreed outcomes. Monitor SLA performance; address non‑conformance with action plans; continuously improve quality and geographic coverage. Maintain strong relationships with landlords/centre management for access, inductions and works coordination; communicate status to internal leaders and cross‑functional teams. Provide transparent updates to Senior Project Manager and CS&S Director; support exec and steering reporting needs. Govern accuracy and timeliness of work orders, status logs and cost/performance dashboards across System and workflow tools (e.g. Salesforce, IFS, DoneSafe, monday.com). Drive data quality (uptime, backlog, safety closures) and publish insights to enable decision‑making. Lead by example to embed TOMRA Safe Standards; conduct regular safety inspections/task observations and implement corrective actions. Qualifications What makes a great Repair and Maintenance Manager at TOMRA: 5 years’ experience leading repair & maintenance programs in construction, facilities, retail fit‑out or similar industrial environments. Demonstrated program management (planning, scheduling, risk), vendor/contractor leadership, and budget ownership.
