Job Title Ashurst Reach Legal Consultant – Gen Corporate Commercial, Tech, Privacy Lawyer Location Sydney Description The Opportunity: 6 or 12 months Full time (hybrid) Sydney This is an opportunity to join an organisation in the data sector Build your portfolio legal career with this well-known business About You: You are an experienced general corporate commercial, technology and/or privacy lawyer You have strong contracting experience with a focus on technology/data and privacy You have the ability to provide legal support on a wide range of general commercial, technology, data protection, cybersecurity, AI and intellectual property related matters You have the ability to draft, advise and negotiate on commercial and other technology and AI-related agreements (including MSAs, Statements of Work, reseller and referral agreements, partnership agreements, Saas and AI Saas agreements) You have had exposure to the fast-changing privacy and data landscape You have the ability to monitor and advise on developments in a legal and regulatory environment You have experience in researching and evaluating risks factors regarding business decisions and operation You have the ability to assist with internal legal and compliance related projects and other ad hoc legal matters You have the ability to partner with technology/product/engineering, security, data governance, consulting and compliance teams to provide advice at the intersection of law, business and emerging technologies You are comfortable working across legal, operational and commercial domains You have experience in providing commercially focussed and pragmatic advice to the business on a wide range of technology, data governance and commercialisation, data protection, security, AI and intellectual property related matters and initiatives You have excellent internal and external negotiation skills You are comfortable interfacing with senior leadership You have experience having robust commercial, legal and risk discussions You have excellent communication and stakeholder management skills and the ability to interact with all levels of an organisation You have the ability to work independently and as part of a team, with the willingness to manage more junior legal team members as the need arises You have excellent attention to detail, organisation, prioritisation and time management skills You have the ability to develop and maintain strong internal and external relationships You have a service-oriented attitude You have the ability to hit the ground running and work closely with a fast paced team You have a minimum of 5 years' experience You have the ability to understand and adapt to the needs of the business You have a current practising certificate You have the right to live and work in Australia Ashurst Reach: Ashurst Reach is Ashurst's dedicated flexible legal resourcing platform which provides the firm's clients and Practice Groups within the firm with access to a high quality talent pool of lawyers and paralegals.
