About our Underground team Our Underground team specialises in the delivery of complex underground infrastructure, with proven expertise across tunnelling, trenchless construction and deep shaft construction in both the civil infrastructure and mining industries. Our in-house fleet of Tunnel Boring Machines (TBMs) is equipped to operate across a range of ground conditions, while our world-leading deep shaft blind boring rigs, among the largest globally, are owned, operated and maintained by our specialist teams. About the opportunity We are looking for a Site Engineer to join our Underground team in Sydney. Initially you will support delivery of a complex trenchless sewer project involving deep shaft construction, significant temporary works and a mix of self-perform tunnelling works and specialist subcontract delivery. Beyond this project, you will have the opportunity to contribute to Abergeldie’s growing pipeline of tunnelling and underground infrastructure projects. In this role you will; Support the delivery of underground construction works including shaft construction, deep excavations, trenchless installation and tunnelling activities. Assist with planning and coordination of site activities including labour, plant, materials and subcontractors. Prepare and review construction documentation including ITPs, SWMS etc. Monitor progress against the construction program and support the project team to maintain schedule and productivity targets. Work closely with Supervisors, Project Engineers and Project Managers to support safe and efficient project delivery. What you’ll bring to the team Experience working as a Site Engineer on civil or underground infrastructure projects. Exposure to underground construction including shaft works, trenchless construction, tunnelling or deep excavations. Strong organisational skills with the ability to coordinate site activities and manage competing priorities. Solid understanding of construction methodologies, quality processes and safety requirements. Relevant tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
