We are seeking a technically capable Sales Estimator who can bridge the gap between engineering, estimating and client engagement. This role plays a critical part in understanding client requirements, preparing accurate project estimates, and supporting the ongoing growth of the business. Working closely with the COO, project managers and technical teams , you will be responsible for preparing quotations, developing proposals and acting as the commercial interface between clients. The Opportunity This role suits someone who enjoys combining technical problem solving with commercial awareness and customer engagement . You will take ownership of the full estimating process — from interpreting drawings and site measurements through to developing Bills of Materials and preparing competitive proposals. You will also work closely with internal teams and international support staff to ensure projects are scoped accurately and delivered successfully. Key Responsibilities Understand customer requirements and project scope Prepare accurate estimates and detailed proposals Interpret engineering and construction drawings Conduct site measurements and scope reviews Develop Bills of Materials (BOM) and order project materials Prepare quotations aligned to client specifications Follow up submitted quotations and convert opportunities into projects Maintain and manage CRM pipeline activity Work closely with project managers, coordinators and subcontractors Maintain strong relationships with customers and suppliers Support the delivery of commercial targets and annual budgets Technical Responsibilities You will work across a range of engineered gate and access solutions including: Cantilever gate systems Track sliding gates Overhead sliding gates Chainwire gates Hinged gates Telescopic gates Fence systems Handrails and fabricated metalwork Gate automation systems and access control solutions Skills & Experience To be successful in this role you will bring: Mechanical Engineering qualification (or similar) Minimum 3 years post-qualification experience Experience within construction, engineering or fabrication environments Strong ability to interpret engineering and construction drawings Experience preparing Bills of Materials and project estimates Knowledge of gate systems, fabrication or structural metalwork (highly regarded) Experience with 2D / 3D CAD drawing review Competency across the Microsoft 365 suite Strong organisational and time management skills Excellent written and verbal communication Personal Attributes Strong attention to detail Ability to work both autonomously and within a team Customer focused with a solutions mindset Highly organised and proactive Comfortable working across multiple projects simultaneously Innovative thinker who is willing to challenge the status quo Additional Requirements Current Australian driver’s licence Ability to attend sites for measurements and project reviews Professional presentation and communication skills Why Join Boswen?
