This is a Project Manager/Lead - Rail role with DT Infrastructure based in Perth, WA, AU DT Infrastructure Role Seniority - mid level More about the Project Manager/Lead - Rail role at DT Infrastructure Job description: About the role DTI are delivering ongoing rail maintenance to support Fortescue's rail network and are now hiring a Project Manager - Rail to lead the North West Rail team in providing expertise in rail maintenance with a commitment to improve asset health and provide first-class track maintenance for our clients. The North West Rail team will provide specialised track enhancement activities and proactive maintenance management planning to support the structural integrity and continued safe operations of Fortescue’s iron ore rail operations. The Project Manager - Rail position is based in Port Hedland on a 4:3 roster, FIFO from Perth. Relocation assitance to WA is available. Key responsibilities include: Provide strong operational leadership to ensure all rail maintenance activities are planned and executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with contractual obligations. Drive performance across multiple work fronts, ensuring resource allocation, sequencing and work delivery align with client priorities and rail access windows. Monitor daily operational performance, proactively identifying emerging risks, delays or issues and implementing timely corrective actions. Ensure all work activities comply with rail safety legislation, client systems, safe work procedures, permits and access requirements. Act as the primary client interface, maintaining strong professional relationships and ensuring clear, transparent communication. Experience and capabilities Rail Infrastructure certified, Project Management (preferred). Hands-on experience in rail infrastructure asset management and maintenance operations (heavy haul, mining or freight preferred). Proven leader with a strong track record of delivering compliant, cost-effective outcomes in complex, high-risk rail environments. Strong knowledge of shutdowns, rail access, defect management and maintenance planning. Experienced in using Asset Management Systems to manage assets and preventative work order tasks. Experience managing blue-collar workforces across multiple locations. Contractor side experience working within mining client systems and governance (highly regarded).
