The key duties of the position include The Role Quality Assurance [Technical] Officer Job family and be accountable under limited direction to perform and achieve complex quality assurance work within an integrated workforce. You will maintain a well-developed understanding of and compliance to relevant legislative frameworks, government decision-making and Defence's mission and policy requirements. As an APS 5 GQAR you will be responsible for organising your workflow and making independent decisions relating to your area of tasking. You will exercise initiative and sound judgement in the interpretation of policy, and in the application of practices and procedures. You will perform procedural and clerical support work to achieve results. You may supervise a Subject Matter Expert as part of an audit team and be accountable to set work priorities and allocate work. About our Team Government Quality Assurance (GQA) Policy to mitigate quality risks for Defence Capability being manufactured or serviced both in Australia and overseas. SQAS manages and performs incoming GQA requests for product, process, and system auditing, and Government Source Inspection undertaken. These international requests are from Allied governments for defence products manufactured or serviced at Australian Defence Suppliers. Our Ideal Candidate You would have highly developed personal organisational skills and the ability to organise an audit team. Commensurate with this you will exhibit ability to identify/define issues; report on non-conformances; and formalise your findings through excellent report writing and documentation. To achieve the auditing outcomes require you will have technical trade knowledge of manufacturing and/or maintenance procedures, corporate quality management systems (ISO-AS/NZS9001/AS9100) and be able to apply your knowledge and experience to undertake Quality Assurance auditing at a wide variety of manufacturing/maintenance facilities.
