Part Time (0.5FTE), Ongoing, based in Hobart About the opportunity The Wicking Dementia Centre is looking for an Administration Officer to join their professional staff team. The Wicking Centre is unique in Australia as an integrated dementia research and education centre that is active across a range of disciplines, aiming to improve the lives of people living with dementia, and increase knowledge and awareness of carers, health providers and communities. As our new Administration Officer, you will provide high-quality administrative support with a strong focus on providing, developing and upholding efficient and responsive processes to support the day-to-day operations of Wicking Dementia Research & Education Centre. Tasks will include communications, finance, purchasing, personnel support, travel, secretariat functions, and facilities management. You will also play a central role in building strong, effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders. What you’ll do: Deliver a broad range of administrative duties and professional services to assist and support the service delivery needs of Wicking Dementia Centre. Develop and maintain productive relationships with stakeholders and Centre staff to ensure processes are followed and tasks are completed. Engage with visitors, research participants and external stakeholders, and answering or redirecting enquiries as appropriate. Contribute to the development and implementation of Standard Operating Procedures and effective use of university systems (e.g., Help Hub). Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and projects across Wicking service delivery areas, enhancing service quality and customer experience while ensuring alignment with legislative requirements, internal policies, and procedures. What we’re looking for: Highly developed interpersonal and verbal communication skills. Proven ability to collaborate effectively within a team, while also working independently within established guidelines and exercising sound judgement, discretion, and respect for confidentiality. Highly developed administration and organisational skills, with a strong attention to detail and demonstrated ability to exercise initiative on work methods and task sequence to meet deadlines. Demonstrated ability to embrace a growth mindset and actively contribute to a culture of excellence. Proven ability to provide a high level of administrative support services, including the ability to collect and prepare meeting minutes and other associated documentation. A high level of computer literacy, including competence in Office 365 applications. Salary details Appointment to this role will be at HEO 4 and will have a total remuneration package of up to $91,488 (pro rata) comprising base salary within the range of $73,814 to $78,195 plus 17% superannuation.
