We are urgently seeking a caustic labourer to assist in the fabrication of aluminum sections for doors and windows. We are seeking an immediate start to work with a highly reputable aluminum extrusion business based in Loganlea. About the role This is a workplace focused on safety, training and team culture. The caustic room worker responsibility is to place and remove design dies from the press into their appropriate locations to cool down and then be put back onto shelves or to go into caustic acid bathes to remove excess aluminum and then be cleaned using a sandblaster. Cleaned dies are then returned to the die shop to be inspected and corrected to be ready again for production. You’ll perform tasks such as: Operation of pneumatic and hydraulic rams Operation of overhead cranes Operation of automatic sandblaster Operation of hydraulic die splitter Safe handling, storage and use of caustic acid Completion of QA checks for caustic acid baths and tanks The roster Day shifts 5am – 5pm Night shifts 5pm – 5am Rotational Roster — availability required Monday to Sunday. Enjoy 5 back-to-back days off once a month! A 15% loading applies to night shifts worked. Penalty rates apply for shifts over 10 hours. What’s on offer Competitive casual hourly rates: $31.19 (day shifts) and $35.87 (night shift) , plus overtime opportunities. This role will commence as labour hire, however, may lead to progression and a longer term opportunity in the future. Comprehensive training in safe work procedures, hazards, and risk controls. Key skills Previous labouring and/or factory experience Current driver’s licence and reliable vehicle Able to work a rotating roster weekly day and night alternating shifts Team player with good work ethic, including reliability and punctual attendance. Willingness to follow instructions and commitment to working safely. Appropriate level of physical fitness to undertake a range of manual handling / labouring tasks in this environment (training in safe work procedures will be provided) Appropriate work wear including steel cap boots, long pants yellow hi-vis long sleeved shirts.
