We pride ourselves on a collaborative kitchen environment and delivering excellent dining experiences. Position Summary: We are seeking an experienced Cook to join our kitchen team. The successful candidate will prepare and cook a range of dishes, ensure food quality and safety, assist with kitchen procedures, and support kitchen operations under the direction of the Head Chef. Key Responsibilities: Inspecting ingredients to ensure they meet quality standards before preparation. Managing and regulating oven, grill, and other cooking equipment temperatures to ensure safe and accurate cooking. Preparing and cooking meals according to menu specifications and recipe standards. Adding seasonings and flavourings at appropriate stages during cooking to achieve desired taste. Plating and portioning food, applying sauces, garnishes, and ensuring presentation quality prior to service. Storing prepared food and ingredients in appropriate temperature-controlled storage to maintain freshness and compliance with safety standards. Preparing meals in accordance with special dietary requirements, allergies, or nutritional needs as requested. Participating in menu planning and estimating food supply requirements when requested. Supporting and training kitchen team members and apprentices as required. Skills and Experience Required: Minimum 2 years’ experience working as a Cook or in a similar kitchen role. Knowledge of food preparation practices, safe food handling, and kitchen equipment operation. Understanding of portion control, food presentation, and seasoning principles. Ability to manage time effectively in a busy kitchen environment. Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent qualification highly desirable. Strong communication and teamwork skills.
