About the Team & the Position AEMO’s Digital Division is accountable to operate, maintain, and deliver digital capabilities. This includes technology foresight, plans, delivery of digital change, operation of AEMO’s Energy Markets and key internal stakeholder engagement. As part of the Digital Division, the Energy Markets & Corporate Digital Systems (EMCDS) department holds the accountability of successful management for AEMO’s critical IT applications. Broadly the responsibilities extend to both Retail and Wholesale Solutions in which EMCDS design, develop, test, deliver and support: the National Electricity Market (NEM), Market Settlement and Transfer Solution (MSATs), Enterprise Meter Data Management (eMDM), Declared Wholesale Gas Market (DWGM), Short Term Trading Market (STTM) , Gas Supply Hub (GSH) and Gas Bulletin Board (GBB). Position Responsibilities Leads the requirement analysis, developing, maintaining and enhancing market software applications in accordance with enterprise architecture principles and the IT Strategy to support AEMO energy market operator functions. Engage with stakeholders and business users when designing systems, managing their expectations and understanding. Ensuring the structure of the documentation, architecture, software and data models is such that the system is most cost efficient, secure and sound. Being the AEMO expert on certain internal workings of the Market systems. Provide innovative and quick solutions to support and maintenance needs. Lead a team to deliver solutions as assigned. Provide after hours on-call support as required by AEMO Position Requirements Skills & Experience: Software development in mission critical IT projects, especially high availability systems. Strong experience in IT and software development & support in tools and technologies such as: Microsoft technologies (C# / .Net / ) Web technologies (RESTful Web Services, HTML5 / CSS / TypeScript / XML / VueJS) or/and Middleware integration (Web Methods, APIM, BOOMI) Oracle Java technologies 8 or above / JEE / JSP / JDBC beneficial but not a pre-requisite Experience in using Build & Source control tools, unit testing. Experience in reviewing requirements and technical documentation of solution design. Detailed knowledge and experience in systems analysis, systems design, SDLC methodologies, and standards used to ensure the integrity of installed applications. Gather considerable AEMO business knowledge in the assigned support area to support stakeholder liaison roles. Must be an Australian citizen with the ability to attain and maintain an appropriate level of national security clearance . Education/ professional Certifications: Appropriate tertiary and/or postgraduate qualifications in Engineering, IT, Computer Science or any appropriate discipline Technical skills in areas such as mathematics and linear programming Certification in any areas of MCSD / OCA / ITIL / PMP / PRINCE2 / SCRUM preferred.
