Type : Full-Time Term : Ongoing Position Details Maintenance/Handyperson We are seeking a full time Maintenance/Handyperson to join our College in an ongoing, capacity. The start date for this position is negotiable, but ideally as soon as possible. Reporting directly to the Facilities Manager, you will be proactive in ensuring the responsible maintenance and continuous improvement to the buildings, property, facilities and various plant and equipment of the College. You will be a team player with a willingness to support your team and the College Community. Selection Criteria Your responsibilities as a Maintenance/Handyperson include: • Undertake various maintenance requests by the College. • At times complete various maintenance requests with other members of the team and/or autonomously. • Respond to adhoc and unplanned maintenance requests in a timely manner. • Support the Facilities Manager with works relating to building refurbishments (major or minor). • Identify and perform regular maintenance and repairs to College buildings, facilities and equipment. • Carry out preventive maintenance at the College as required. • Contributes to ensuring the College grounds are of a neat and tidy appearance. What we are seeking: • Proactive team player who demonstrates initiative. • Ability to monitor and maintain in safe working order various items of plant, furniture and fittings, and building infrastructure. • Ability to be flexible and respond to a fast-paced work environment. • Ability to take direction and work as a team and independently when required. • Physically fit and able. (Shortlisted applicants will be required to undertake a medical assessment). • Knowledge of WHS laws and regulations. • High level organisational and administration skills. • An awareness and appreciation for the Catholic ethos of the College. Qualifications Required • Relevant trade qualification (preferred but not essential). • Extensive experience in a similar position. • Physically fit and able to undertake manual labour duties.
