About the Role Design, build and optimise backend services using Node.js, TypeScript and modern JavaScript patterns. Develop and maintain APIs, microservices and distributed systems with a strong focus on scalability, performance and reliability. Work across Linux environments, diagnosing and resolving issues across networking, services and runtime layers. Contribute to architecture discussions, technical design and engineering decisions across the platform. Investigate production incidents, identify performance bottlenecks and lead root cause analysis. Implement modern engineering practices including testing frameworks, CI/CD pipelines, containerisation and infrastructure automation. Collaborate with engineering teams to uplift coding standards, documentation and overall platform maturity. About You Essential skills Strong Node.js / TypeScript backend development experience. Experience with at least one additional programming language such as C++, Java, C# or Ruby. Solid computer science fundamentals including algorithms, data structures and networking concepts. Strong troubleshooting and debugging capability within complex systems. Comfortable working in Linux based development environments. Advantageous skills Frontend development experience with React or similar JavaScript frameworks. DevOps and cloud infrastructure experience with AWS, Docker and infrastructure as code. Exposure to networking protocols or network application development. Experience working with IoT or connected device environments. Cross platform or mobile application development experience.
