Join us as we contribute to this significant transition in the energy sector. About the role Help shape the success of a newly established team within AEMO’s System Design division. In this dynamic, project‑focused analyst role, you will deliver high‑quality analytics, reporting, and business insights that drive strategic decision‑making and enhance project performance. Reporting directly to the Group Manager, Business Solutions, you will play a pivotal role in standing up this new function within System Design. Your remit will include developing the division’s long‑term business strategy, creating digital, process and workforce planning roadmaps, embedding best‑practice risk and compliance frameworks, and leading continuous process improvement initiatives across the Division. This is a unique opportunity to lead and influence ‘on‑the‑business’ initiatives by ensuring they are delivered on time, aligned to strategic objectives, and positioned to elevate the Division’s overall effectiveness and performance. What you will be doing Develop, document, and implement the System Design Business Plan, embedding a regular performance monitoring and review cadence. Conduct research and analysis to generate strategic insights that inform decision‑making and support long‑term planning. Contribute to the System Design technology roadmap and collaborate with Digital teams to ensure effective interfaces, governance frameworks, and uplift of systems supporting forecasting, planning, onboarding, and connections activities. Support project delivery and program oversight by analysing reports, maintaining dashboards, coordinating risk and compliance documentation, and ensuring operational information is accurate and up to date. Drive operational improvements by coordinating initiatives, developing tools, templates and processes, and providing project management support to advance Division objectives. What you will bring to the role Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Commerce, Business Administration, or a related discipline. A wealth of experience in an analyst, strategy, or business support role, ideally with exposure to the energy sector. Strong structured thinking and problem‑solving capability, with experience in business risk frameworks highly regarded. Strategic, proactive mindset with the ability to distil complex or ambiguous information into clear, executive‑level insights. Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams and perspectives. High attention to detail, strong prioritisation skills, and proficiency in Microsoft D365; experience with Power BI and Visio is an advantage.
