The Client Liddles Aerial Spraying Pty Ltd is an aerial application company located in the Cassowary Coast Region, North Queensland. Established in 1979, this third generation, locally owned and operated business, has in excess of 37 years of aerial application experience in this area. They are based out of Tully, Innisfail and Mareeba offering aerial spraying across Far North Queensland. They are looking for three (3) Pilots to join their growing team in Tully. The Role The pilot role is responsible for the safe operation of fixed wing aircraft in the aerial application of plant protection, seed, and nutrition products on agricultural crops. This is for three (3) full time roles with an annual salary set between $77000 to 85000 plus superannuation. Responsibilities Proper application of seed, fertiliser and plant protection products Properly handle and store all chemicals. Comply with label requirements and restrictions for aerial application of pesticides Comply with applicable laws and regulations at all times Follow company standard operations manual for application operations. Check each field for hazards (towers, power lines, wires, irrigation pipes and antennas) before each application begins Consider air speed, wind and weather to determine if conditions are appropriate for application and flying Check loads, fuel and equipment needed for the job Maintain certifications and licenses required for flying and chemical application Keep a record of flight times Liaise with aircraft maintenance engineers who complete any aircraft repairs Co-ordinate work schedules with the ground support staff Work to keep airplane and equipment properly washed and maintained Participate in blood testing and/or alcohol testing when scheduled Requirements Relevant qualifications in flying Must possess commercial pilot license with minimum of 2000 hrs Must possess an ag rating with minimum of 1000 hours ag. Must have at least 3 years of commercial flying experience Minimum of 3 years doing ag application Strong understanding of Australian civil aviation laws Excellent planning and decision-making skills Strong knowledge of safety rules and emergency procedures Ability to maintain positive and professional working relationships
