With a high-volume production environment and well-established brands, the organisation plays a critical role in supplying major retailers and food service channels across Australia. This opportunity sits directly on the manufacturing site in Melbourne’s western suburbs and forms a key link between operations and finance. The role works closely with the Site General Manager while reporting into the Head of Finance. Your new position: This is a highly visible Site Accountant role where you will act as the financial partner to the manufacturing leadership team. You will be responsible for delivering accurate reporting, analysing operational performance, and providing insights that support production efficiency, cost control, and informed decision making across the site. Working closely with both finance and operational stakeholders, you will ensure strong financial governance while translating financial data into meaningful commercial insights for the business. Key responsibilities include: Prepare site-level financial reporting, including month-end journals, balance sheet reconciliations and variance analysis with clear commentary for leadership. Partner directly with the Site General Manager and production leaders to analyse operational performance, identify cost drivers and support improvement initiatives. Maintain product costing and Bills of Materials (BOM), supporting pricing analysis and margin optimisation. Monitor inventory valuation and movements, including slow moving or obsolete stock provisions. Manage the fixed asset register and assist with capital expenditure tracking and approvals. Work closely with production teams to capture operational data and analyse production metrics to support efficiency and cost improvements. What you’ll bring: Degree qualified in Accounting, Finance or similar. CA/CPA qualification or similar Proven experience within manufacturing or FMCG environments. Strong analytical capability with the ability to interpret operational and financial data. Confidence partnering with operational stakeholders in a fast-paced site environment.
