What is the role and what team does it sit within?We are looking for a Data Scientist to join our Data Services Team. This team is the engine room of our intelligence, responsible for transforming raw transaction data into meaningful financial insights for millions of users. What does the team do at Frollo?Our team builds and maintains the cloud-driven machine learning pipelines that power Frollo’s B2B and B2C offerings. We specialize in financial data enrichment—turning "messy" open banking data into structured insights like spend categorization, merchant identification, and credit scoring. Role What does this role do within the team?As a Data Scientist, you will bridge the gap between complex research and production-ready code. You will: Design and build scalable Machine Learning models using LLM, hybrid, and traditional approaches for high-impact enrichment use cases. Own the full ML lifecycle, from feature engineering and experiment tracking (MLFlow/DVC) to production deployment and monitoring. Drive AI innovation by proposing and implementing advanced artificial intelligence principles to strengthen our product roadmap and technical architecture. Top 3 Duties Model Development: Build and optimise predictive Machine Learning models for spend categorisation and merchant classification with a focus on cost/performance tradeoffs. Operational Excellence: Maintain production-quality Python code and MLOps workflows to ensure models are robust, monitored, and reproducible. Data Governance: Ensure all Machine Learning outputs and pipelines remain strictly compliant with CDR (Consumer Data Right) regulations and data sharing rules. Top 3 Skills Required Advanced ML & Python: 4 years of experience in Data Scientist roles with deep proficiency in Python (PyTorch, scikit-learn) and Machine Learning systems. NLP & LLM Expertise: Proven track record in NLP, text classification, and the practical implementation of Large Language Models in production. Pragmatic Problem Solving: Ability to work with incomplete data sets and translate complex Machine Learning requirements into clear technical specifications.
