This is a Professional Board Member role with Queensland Government based in Brisbane, QLD, AU Queensland Government Role Seniority - senior More about the Professional Board Member role at Queensland Government The Parole Board Queensland (the Board) is an evidence-based, trauma-informed, administrative decision-making body that works collaboratively with other Queensland criminal justice agencies to decide whether prisoners who have reached their parole eligibility date can be safely released to serve the remainder of their sentence in the community. The Board is seeking Professional Board Members who are experienced administrative decision-makers and can lead a multi-disciplinary meeting to appropriately apply legal principles to the evidence before the Board and draw conclusions in a supported but complex environment. To be successful in this role, you would ideally demonstrate: ability to collaboratively lead board meetings and ensure robust decisions are made within tight timeframes. administrative law experience, preferably with expertise in evidence-based decision making and statutory decision-making processes, or other experience relevant to the functions of the Board. an ability to apply key principles, findings, and recommendations of external and internal reviews to the functions of the Board. experience interpreting and applying decision-making frameworks and legislation and consolidating complex information from various sources to provide comprehensive advice and assessments. acceptance and appreciation of the Board's duty to make lawful and evidence-based decisions.
