As a Principal Business Support Officer within our Performance and Data Assurance team, you’ll take the lead in budget monitoring and planning, while driving critical funding and performance-related activities to support our commitment to excellence. As a Principal Business Support Officer, you will provide high level management and advice to support the Manager in relation to human resource management activities, administering and managing the social services service procurement and grant funding in accordance with legislative requirements and funding policy and procedures. What You Will Be Doing In The Role Provide leadership and direction to a team by determining priorities and responding to and resolving operational issues, including the management of staff and resources allocated to achieve outcomes. Provide a high level of experience in administration, corporate governance, systems and processes, including ministerial and executive correspondence, budget monitoring and planning and contributing to strategic planning. Use initiative and significant levels of independent judgement in solving urgent and emerging issues with limited direction, including sensitive issues. Undertake co-ordination activities for the work unit and managing the implementation of strategic and operational activities. Build and maintain productive working relationships and networks, both internal and external to the department and representing the work unit. Manage adherence to corporate governance framework and an environment of continuous improvement through the application of relevant procedures and compliance to management systems including risk management, quality management and systems appraisals. Monitor and address complex and/or sensitive enquiries and issues, including those that are escalated, to ensure the timely and effective resolutions of issues. Provide advice to senior staff, regarding emerging issues and strategic opportunities and challenges.
