Reporting to the Data & Automation Team Leader, the Database Administrator will play a key role in supporting business operations through the management, optimisation, and security of enterprise database systems. Key Responsibilities Administer, monitor, and maintain SQL Server databases to ensure optimal performance, availability, and security. Manage database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes to safeguard business-critical data. Collaborate with applications and infrastructure teams to optimise database design, queries, and system performance. Troubleshoot and resolve database and infrastructure-related performance issues. Implement and maintain database security standards in line with organisational policies and industry best practices. Identify opportunities for continuous improvement including automation, capacity planning, and database platform optimisation across on-premises, private cloud, and Infrastructure/Platform as a Service environment. Maintain clear and accurate documentation of database environments, configurations, and operational procedures. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to improving database reliability, performance, and security.
