Key responsibilities: Engage with the procurement process by developing scopes of works and providing information to support the assessment of variations and claims. With the Design Manager, provide input into construction methodology reviews and recommend changes that increase construction efficiency and reduce costs. Management of all design and construction coordination issues, working with design consultants to confirm the design documentation. Consider design options, engineering solutions and value for money initiatives. Prepare construction plans and programs and monitor construction progress for the area of work against program and budget and report any issues, Identify and mitigate construction risk, communicate the project program to the team and identify key milestones for supervisors to support short range programs. Identify and manage construction risk for areas of the project, escalating issues to the Senior Project Engineer when required. Understand and comply with the sustainability objectives and requirements for the project e.g. NABERS/ Green Star. Engage with Supervisors to understand the logistics and program requirements for the project including include work sequences, site establishment, inspections, and subcontractor plans for their areas of work. Support the project handover by contributing to the project completion plan, proactively managing defect identification and rectification with subcontractors and respond to client requests for information. What You’ll Bring Proven experience as a Project Engineer or Senior Project Engineer within the commercial construction sector. Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to influence and engage diverse teams. Solid understanding of subcontractor markets and construction methodologies.
