Step Into Your Next Chapter As the Schools Officer, Grounds and Facilities you will contribute to the efficient and effective operation and environment of the school by providing a high level of grounds and facilities to the Principal, Business Manager or nominated delegate. You will perform a range of activities to ensure that the school is maintained to a high standard; follow set instructions; and have independence to perform a variety of day-to-day services that are routine in nature. However, the role receives regular supervision when undertaking duties that are non-routine in nature. As the Schools Officer, Grounds and Facilities you will not be required to perform any task or repairs that would normally require the services of a qualified tradesperson. Responsibilities Include Maintain school grounds, gardens, and outdoor areas to a high standard Perform routine maintenance, minor repairs and basic handyman tasks Ensure facilities are safe, clean and compliant with workplace health and safety requirements Assist with set-up and pack-down for school events and activities Monitor and maintain equipment, tools and maintenance schedules Liaise with line managers and contractors as required Proactively identify maintenance issues and report or address them promptly Please view the role description for a full list of responsibilities. Essential About you: Demonstrated experience in grounds keeping, facilities maintenance or a similar hands-on role Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining high standards Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities Sound knowledge of workplace health and safety practices Practical problem-solving skills and initiative Ability to undertake physical work Current Working with Children Check (Blue Card) or ability to obtain Desirable Experience working in a school or education setting Trade qualifications or certifications (e.g. horticulture, carpentry, maintenance) Experience operating grounds equipment (mowers, brush cutters, etc.) Basic computer skills for maintenance reporting systems First Aid certification Submit Your Application Attach a brief resume including contact details for 2 referees (referees should have an understanding of your relevant work history) Attach a 1-page written statement about how your achievements and capabilities meet the requirements of the role.
