As part of strengthening how we manage operational risk across the organisation, we’re looking for an Operational Assurance Analyst to join our Risk team in Bundaberg. This role suits someone who enjoys working with people, understanding how things work, and helping teams improve the way they manage risk. What you’ll be doing In this role, you’ll help us understand whether our controls and processes are working as they should. You’ll work closely with teams across the bank, offering support and guidance in a way that builds trust and confidence. Your work will include: Supporting the delivery of our operational risk assurance plan Testing key controls and identifying opportunities to strengthen them Helping document and review processes following incidents or breaches Contributing to the development of our risk policies, procedures and frameworks Preparing clear, simple reporting for senior leaders Helping lift risk awareness and capability across the organisation You’ll be part of a supportive team that values collaboration, clear communication and doing what’s right for our customers. What you’ll bring You don’t need to know everything — what matters most is your willingness to learn, your curiosity, and your ability to build strong working relationships. Ideally, you’ll have: Experience in banking, finance or a related industry Experience in assurance, auditing or operational risk A good understanding of risk frameworks and regulatory expectations Confidence working with data and using Excel An ability to translate complex information into simple, practical insights A friendly, approachable communication style If you enjoy problem‑solving and working with others to make processes safer, clearer and more reliable, you’ll feel at home here.
