Carpenter / Leading Hand – Glass and Aluminium Balustrade Systems IM Partners is recruiting on behalf of Adelaide Balustrade and Fencing. Adelaide Balustrade and Fencing installs glass and aluminium balustrade and screening systems for leading residential and commercial builders across Adelaide. The work is practical, site-based and finish-driven. The install needs to be right, and the person leading it needs to know what good looks like. We are looking for an experienced Carpenter / Leading Hand who is still very much on the tools. This role suits someone who can read drawings properly, set out accurately, install to a high standard and lead day-to-day site activity without standing back from the work. About the role This is a full-time, site-based role working across projects throughout Adelaide. You will be responsible for installing glass and aluminium balustrade and screening systems while also taking the lead on site day to day. That includes setting the standard for quality and pace of work, helping coordinate labour and materials, dealing with site conditions as they arise, and working closely with supervisors, builders and other trades to keep installations moving properly. This is a hands-on leading hand role, not a stand-back supervisory position. What you will be doing Installing framed and frameless glass balustrade systems Installing aluminium balustrade and screening systems Reading and interpreting architectural and shop drawings Setting out, measuring, levelling and fitting systems accurately Leading by example on site and keeping work moving day to day Helping coordinate labour, materials and site requirements Working with builders, supervisors and other trades to manage site flow Making sure finished work is neat, compliant and built to specification What the business is looking for Strong practical carpentry experience on construction sites Proven installation experience in balustrades or similar aluminium and glass systems Ability to read drawings and turn them into accurate installation on site Good set-out skills, strong attention to detail and consistent finish quality Confidence leading others on site while still being on the tools Someone who works cleanly, thinks ahead and takes ownership of the job Ability to deal with site realities without losing quality or momentum Current driver’s licence and reliable transport This role will suit a carpenter who enjoys hands-on work, can lead from the front and can be trusted to deliver a quality result on site.
