The key duties of the position include The Role Military Workforce Design Division, within the Vice Chief of Defence Force Group is seeking Workforce Planning Officers to work in teams to support the conduct of Organisational Capability Reviews (OCRs) across Defence. An OCR is a defined process used to ensure Force Elements remain organisationally 'fit for purpose', addressing the Force-in-Being workforce requirements as operational and preparedness needs evolve. An OCR assesses and adjusts the organisational structure of a Force Element, considering factors such as changing operational requirements, workforce projections, and approved budget allocations. As part of small team (amongst other teams) within the Force Structure Plans Directorate, you will provide support in the research, planning and execution of OCRs, by conducting organisational research, data analysis and review, development of decision analysis diagrams and tools, drafting decision briefs, and stakeholder engagement with Force Element representatives. About our Team The mission of MWDD is to design and control the Australian Defence Force (ADF) organisational structure, in order to contribute to integrated capabilities for the ADF. You will be working in a small team of 4-6 staff, along with other teams comprising of both ADF and APS workforce, to conduct OCRs on directed workforce structures within the Australian Defence Organisation. Our Organisational Capability Review teams work hand in hand with the Defence People Group Organisational Capability Review Teams, to deliver an integrated Defence Organisational Capability Review mechanism. You should be adaptable and able to work within dynamic team environments, willing to work within a primarily ADF team, and flexible to work with many different people on different projects, and you may be required to supervise others.
