Frank’s Deli Frankston is a busy and well-loved deli and dining spot located in the heart of Frankston. We are known for our quality food, fresh ingredients, and friendly atmosphere. Our team is passionate about delivering consistently great meals and excellent customer experiences. We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Chef to join our kitchen team. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about food, has strong organisational skills, and enjoys working in a fast-paced kitchen environment. Role Overview The Chef will be responsible for planning, organising, and overseeing the preparation and cooking of food while maintaining high standards of quality, presentation, and food safety. The successful candidate will play an important role in menu planning, kitchen operations, and maintaining a smooth workflow within the kitchen. Key Responsibilities Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: Menu Planning & Kitchen Operations Plan and develop menu items in line with the deli’s concept and customer preferences Estimate food and labour costs and assist with kitchen budgeting Order food supplies and ensure stock levels are maintained appropriately Work closely with management to improve menu offerings and kitchen efficiency Food Preparation & Cooking Prepare and cook a variety of dishes to a consistently high standard Monitor quality and presentation of all dishes before they are served Ensure proper portion control and food presentation Demonstrate cooking techniques and provide guidance to kitchen staff Team Collaboration Communicate effectively with managers and kitchen staff regarding food preparation and service requirements Work collaboratively with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service Assist with selecting, training, and mentoring kitchen staff where required Food Safety & Compliance Maintain strict adherence to food safety and hygiene regulations Explain and enforce safe food handling procedures within the kitchen Ensure cleanliness and organisation of kitchen work areas Properly store, freeze, and preserve food to minimise waste Skills & Experience To be successful in this role, you should have: Proven experience working as a Chef or Cook in a café, deli, restaurant, or catering environment Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking methods, and kitchen operations Understanding of Australian food safety and hygiene standards Ability to work efficiently in a busy kitchen environment Strong organisational and time-management skills Excellent teamwork and communication skills Passion for creating high-quality food and maintaining kitchen standards What We Offer Friendly and supportive team environment Opportunity to contribute to menu development Stable full-time position Competitive salary based on experience Opportunity to grow within the business How to Apply If you are passionate about food and would like to join the team at Frank’s Deli Frankston , we would love to hear from you.
