Cloud & Infrastructure Sydney Contract Australian leading enterprise organisation Initial 6-month contract with strong renewal potential A culture of genuine care and team work Launch Recruitment are currently supporting a leading Australian enterprise organisation on the lookout for an Infrastructure Engineer, specialising in Linux to manage the lifecycle, scalability and operational performance of distributed edge infrastructure and container platforms. Key Responsibilities Design, build and maintain Linux-based edge platforms and container environments across distributed locations. Contribute to the evolution of the platform architecture, including modernising legacy environments and enabling container-native edge deployments. Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions to provision and manage environments using tools such as Terraform, Ansible and GitOps workflows. Build and operate CI/CD pipelines for automated image builds, testing and fleet-wide patching of operating systems and container platforms. Ensure platform security, compliance and resilience, translating security standards and regulatory requirements into automated remediation and engineering improvements. Collaborate with engineering, operations and security teams to deliver scalable, container-ready infrastructure. Manage platform initiatives, technical backlog and sprint delivery within JIRA. Experience Required Over 5 years’ experience in infrastructure engineering or software engineering, including 2–3 years working with container platforms Strong expertise in Linux systems, particularly Red Hat Enterprise Linux, and container platforms such as OpenShift and Kubernetes. Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform and Ansible, and GitOps deployment approaches. Experience building and managing CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure and platform environments. Strong scripting capability (e.g. Bash, Python or Go) for automation and operational tooling. Familiarity with platform monitoring and observability tools to support performance and operational stability. Experience implementing DevSecOps practices, including container image scanning, vulnerability management and policy-as-code. Strong stakeholder management skills and experience working with engineering, operations and security teams. Degree in Computer Science or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
