The Opportunity Our Port Kembla Manufacturing facility is looking for an Electrical Engineer (Power Systems) in our Power Systems and Governance Capital Engineering team based in Port Kembla . As a part of the broader Australian Steel Products portfolio, we have six major manufacturing sites at Port Kembla that deliver a variety of products, innovative solutions and services to our export and domestic customers. Safe, secure, and reliable power systems are essential to our steel manufacturing operations and the ability to transform manufacturing processes. The Power Systems and Governance Capital Engineering Department play a key role in this by applying specialist power system engineering skills to design, manage and execute power system projects. You’ll be responsible for assisting the Power Systems Manager in delivering these specialised services, overseeing the execution of capital projects, ensuring compliance with governance requirements, and driving continuous improvement. This opportunity welcomes applications from both junior and experienced Electrical Engineers with a background in site-based Electrical project engineering. We encourage Engineers that have a strong interest in power systems to apply. What Will You Do? As an Electrical Engineer working within Power Systems and Governance team, you will apply your technical knowledge to execute high voltage projects, including both primary and secondary systems. In doing so you will: prepare detailed calculations for equipment selection and equipment configuration. develop power system models and conduct studies. develop electrical drawings and reports. develop equipment and installation specifications. develop commissioning documentation. plan and coordinate relevant stakeholders and resources to execute project work. provide technical support for the high voltage operations and maintenance teams.
