Task & responsibilities Duties and Responsibilities Consulting with clients to assess hair condition and discuss suitable hairstyles, grooming options and hair care treatments. Providing professional advice on hair care routines, styling techniques and appropriate beauty and grooming products. Shampooing, conditioning and treating hair and scalp using salon-grade products. Cutting, trimming, tapering and shaping hair using scissors, clippers and razors. Performing precision barbering techniques including fades, taper cuts, clipper work and razor detailing. Colouring, bleaching, highlighting, straightening and permanently waving hair using chemical solutions in accordance with safety standards. Styling hair using blow dryers and other styling tools to achieve desired results. Styling hair into braids, dreadlocks and applying hair extensions where required. Shaving and trimming beards and moustaches, including detailed shaping and razor work. Cleaning work areas and sanitising instruments to maintain strict hygiene and infection control standards. Arranging appointments, managing client bookings and responding to service enquiries. Processing payments and handling point-of-sale transactions accurately. Cleaning, cutting, colouring and styling wigs and hairpieces when required. Qualification & experience Skills and Requirements Certificate III in Hairdressing (or equivalent qualification). Demonstrated 1 year of experience in a barbershop or salon environment. Strong technical ability in both traditional and modern cutting and grooming techniques. Excellent customer service and communication skills. Ability to work efficiently during busy periods while maintaining attention to detail. Strong understanding of hygiene, infection control and workplace safety standards.
