The opportunity As the Supervisor Conservation & Environment, you’ll lead and support a skilled team delivering high quality conservation outcomes across our municipality. This is a hands on leadership role where you’ll balance people leadership, safety, budgets and works to protect and enhance environmentally significant sites. You’ll work closely with internal teams, contractors, agencies and community groups, ensuring works are well planned, safely delivered and aligned with management plans. If you’re an experienced conservation professional who enjoys guiding others, building strong partnerships and making a visible difference to natural spaces, this role offers both purpose and variety. What you’ll be doing Supervising and supporting conservation staff and contractors in day to day operations Managing conservation budgets, procurement, quotes and invoice processing Overseeing inductions, competency checks and safe operation of plant and equipment Coordinating the safe delivery of conservation works in line with management plans and schedules Building positive relationships with community groups and external stakeholders What you'll need to succeed Qualification in Natural Resource Management, Environmental Science or similar experience Proven experience supervising staff and contractors in conservation environments Strong knowledge of conservation practices, including weed and habitat management Experience managing budgets, contractors and operational planning Current Victorian Driver’s Licence (First Aid, ACUP and chainsaw training desirable) To be considered for this role applications should include A maximum 2-page cover letter which should outline your interest in the role A current CV which includes key achievements & relevant qualifications Uncover more about this role in the Position Description attached below, or contact Rosalee Kennedy, Team Leader Conservation & Environment via careers@hobsonsbay.vic.gov.au Applications will be accepted until 11:30pm on 22 March 2025 .
