Mainframe Analyst 6-Month Assignment with potential to extend Hybrid Based Anywhere in Australia Green Light is a growing consulting organisation known for its work in Telecommunications and System Integration Services organisations. We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Analyst with strong expertise in IMS database environments and HOGAN banking systems for a 6 month contract . The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing mainframe databases, ensuring high availability, performance, and data integrity. This role involves working with HALDB, FastPath, Managed ACB , and related tools, as well as supporting batch scheduling, replication, and monitoring solutions within an enterprise environment. Key Responsibilities: Administer, maintain, and support IMS databases in a mainframe environment. Manage and support HOGAN banking system databases and related applications. Configure and maintain HALDB (High Availability Large Databases) and FastPath databases. Implement and manage Managed ACB for IMS database definitions and application control blocks. Perform database performance tuning, monitoring, and troubleshooting to ensure optimal system performance. Manage Change Data Capture (CDC) processes for data replication and integration. Schedule and monitor batch jobs using Control-M or other enterprise job scheduling tools . Utilize BMC IMS tools for database administration, backup/recovery, and performance management. Perform database backup, recovery, reorganization, and capacity planning . Support application teams with database design, schema changes, and deployment activities . Ensure compliance with data governance, security, and operational standards . Provide production support, incident resolution, and root cause analysis for database-related issues. Document procedures, configurations, and operational processes. Required Skills & Qualifications Hands-on experience with HOGAN banking systems . Expertise in HALDB, FastPath, and Managed ACB . Experience with Change Data Capture (CDC) technologies. Familiarity with Control-M or other enterprise job scheduling tools . Experience with BMC IMS tools for administration and monitoring. Strong knowledge of mainframe environments (z/OS) . Experience with database backup/recovery, performance tuning, and troubleshooting . Ability to work in production support and high-availability environments . Preferred Qualifications: Experience in banking or financial services environments . Knowledge of IMS utilities, JCL, and mainframe operations . Experience with data replication, integration, and large-scale database environments . Soft Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and documentation skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment .
