The Role As Principal - Corporate Development you will perform a key role identifying, evaluating and executing a range of M&A transactions, including acquisitions, divestments, strategic stakes, and financing. You will be working closely with Senior Management to develop deep proprietary knowledge of mining assets, robust technical and financial models and present potential transaction opportunities in a manner that supports optimal decision making. Your Responsibilities Will Include Undertaking market research to identify M&A opportunities Conducting technical due diligence to evaluate mining assets Serving as the primary in-house financial modelling resource for the Corporate Development team, producing robust mining and cashflow models Undertaking accretion/dilution analysis to evaluate potential transactions Translating key findings from multidisciplinary due diligence teams into proprietary views on asset value, risks, and opportunities Producing high‑quality written materials, including charts and tables, for senior management and Board presentations Translating findings from mining reviews into financial models Engaging, directing, and critically reviewing the work of external consultants and advisors Assisting in all aspects of transaction execution as required About You To thrive in this role, you will bring a multidisciplinary skill set combining corporate finance knowledge and hands on practical experience from your mining engineering background. You are proactive and commercially minded, with the ability to influence management decisions and organisational direction. You will likely have between 5 to 15 years of combined professional experience, although more experienced candidates will be considered. You Bring Demonstrated experience working in investment banking, corporate advisory, equity research, private equity, corporate development, business development or similar Demonstrated experience working as a mining engineer in an operational or consulting capacity.
