About the Role We are seeking 2x Senior Data/Platform Engineers sit within a high-performing digital engineering function responsible for uplifting enterprise platform capability across development, testing and deployment environments. You will play a key role in designing and optimising secure, scalable and automated infrastructure that supports continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines. The role focuses on strengthening DevOps maturity, enhancing non-production environments and embedding best practice automation across cloud platforms. Working closely with engineering, quality assurance and security teams, you will contribute to platform resilience, performance optimisation and long-term sustainability of mission-critical systems. Position: Senior Platform Engineer – Grade 11/12 Location: Sydney CBD / Hybrid Working Arrangement: Hybrid (2–3 days onsite) Start Date: ASAP Duration: 12 months with possible extension Application Window: Shortlisting within 3 days Key Responsibilities Design, build and maintain secure, scalable cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code principles Develop and enhance CI/CD pipelines to streamline build, test and deployment workflows Lead implementation of automated testing frameworks, including integration, performance and load testing Maintain and optimise non-production environments to ensure stability and readiness for release cycles Implement monitoring, logging and observability solutions to proactively identify and remediate issues Embed DevOps best practices to improve deployment frequency, reliability and recovery times Collaborate with security teams to strengthen platform security controls and ensure compliance with government standards Manage cloud environments across AWS, Azure or GCP, ensuring cost optimisation and performance efficiency Automate provisioning, configuration management and environment patching processes Contribute to architectural decisions, technical roadmaps and continuous improvement initiatives Produce technical documentation, design artefacts and reporting for stakeholders and leadership Provide technical mentoring and guidance to engineers to uplift capability across the team Engage with vendors and third-party providers to support platform integrations and service delivery About You Demonstrated experience in senior platform engineering, DevOps or cloud infrastructure roles within complex enterprise environments Strong hands-on expertise with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or GCP Advanced experience with Infrastructure as Code tools, particularly Terraform or equivalent Proven capability building and managing CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps or similar Experience implementing automated testing, performance testing and environment management practices Solid understanding of containerisation and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes Knowledge of monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK or similar Strong understanding of cyber security principles, risk management and compliance requirements Experience working within government or highly regulated environments will be highly regarded Ability to influence stakeholders, contribute to technical strategy and communicate complex concepts clearly Relevant tertiary qualifications in Information Technology, Computer Science or related discipline, or equivalent industry experience Current National Police Check (or willingness to undergo prior to commencement) Full working rights in Australia – Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident, or valid long-term working visa (sponsorship unavailable) Applicants are kindly asked to upload their documents at > Application Process Important: Due to the high volume of applications and the limited submission timeframe, we may not be able to contact all applicants.
