We’re currently seeking an experienced Shotfirer (Explosives Supervisor) to join our high-performing team, working across our Gunnedah Open Cut operations. Reporting to the Drill & Blast Superintendent, this is an exciting opportunity to step into a leadership role where you’ll oversee safe and efficient blasting activities. What You’ll Do Safely manage and execute daily blast operations in accordance with site procedures and regulatory requirements Handle, transport and store explosives safely and efficiently Conduct risk assessments, pre-blast inspections and post-blast evaluations Work closely with drill & blast and production teams to meet schedule and quality targets Maintain accurate records and documentation in line with legislative and company standards Provide on-the-ground supervision and leadership to the blast crew What You’ll Bring Current NSW Shotfirer licence or equivalent recognised interstate licence Previous open cut coal experience in a similar role Valid Driver’s Licence Ability to undergo a order 45 assessment as part of the recruitment process Strong safety focus and communication skills Ability to work in a high-performance team environment Why Whitehaven Coal?
