The Queensland Train Manufacturing Program (QTMP) is about to change everything — and we’re gearing up for launch. We’re delivering 65 brand new, state-of-the-art six car passenger trains to support the Queensland population and future growth and help Queensland shine on the world stage during the 2032 Brisbane Olympic and Paralympic Games. These next-generation trains will be manufactured right here in Queensland at our new, purpose built world-class facility in Torbanlea on the Fraser Coast. As we move toward commissioning our new world class facility, we’re expanding rapidly throughout 2026 The role at a glance In this role, you will play a vital part in the electrical assembly, testing, and commissioning of next-generation railcars. Please note this role is located in Torbanlea, Queensland. Key Responsibilities: Perform wire cutting, labelling, crimping, and termination to precise specifications Install electrical looms and components in accordance with engineering drawings and work instructions Conduct electrical testing, measurement, and fault finding to ensure system integrity and performance Support statutory and preventative maintenance activities across production systems Respond to facility asset breakdowns and assist during equipment failures to minimise downtime Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to meet production and quality targets About you Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician Knowledge of electrical rollingstock systems, manufacturing processes, and specialised equipment, from production to electrical testing and commissioning (desired). Sound knowledge of Queensland electrical regulations and relevant Australian electrical standards, with the ability to apply them in both manufacturing and maintenance environments. The ability to dismantle, repair, replace, assemble, and fit engineering components Skilled in precision electrical and electronic measurement Experience in terminating and connecting electrical wiring, including electrical crimping The capability to fault-find and repair electrical equipment and components operating up to 1000V AC / 1500V DC Please note: These are gate start roles.
