Role Objective We are seeking a detail-oriented Building Designer/BIM Coordinator with a mastery of the Autodesk ecosystem. The successful candidate will be responsible for bridging the gap between architectural intent and structural reality, producing highly coordinated Revit models and AutoCAD drawing sets. You will play a critical role in the construction detailing phase, ensuring that designs are not only aesthetically sound but also buildable and structurally integrated. Key Responsibilities Integrated Modeling: Develop and manage high-quality 3D models in Autodesk Revit , ensuring seamless coordination between architectural elements and structural systems. Precision Drafting: Produce detailed 2D construction documentation using AutoCAD Architecture and AutoCAD Structural toolsets, maintaining strict adherence to layering and standard protocols. Construction Detailing: Assist in the creation of complex construction and connection detailing. Discipline Coordination: Perform "clash detection" within models to identify and resolve conflicts between structural members and architectural layouts before they reach the site. Design Support: Assist the lead designer in translating conceptual sketches into technical plans, elevations, and sections. Documentation Management: Maintain organized project files and revision logs, ensuring all sets are current for permit submittals and site use. Required Skills & Qualifications Software Mastery: Autodesk Revit: Advanced proficiency (Worksharing, Family Creation, and Schedules). AutoCAD: Expert level in both Architecture and Structural toolsets (Xrefs, Dynamic Blocks). Technical Knowledge: * Strong understanding of Building Codes and structural framing principles (Steel, Concrete, Timber). Demonstrated ability to produce Construction Documents (CDs) with minimal supervision. Detailing Mindset: Ability to zoom into a 1:5 scale detail and understand how various materials interact to create a weather-tight, stable structure. Experience: [Insert Number, e.g., 3-5] years of experience in an architecture or structural engineering firm. Education: Degree or Advanced Diploma in Building Design, Architecture, or Civil/Structural Engineering. Key Performance Indicators (What Success Looks Like) Clash-Free Models: Structural and architectural elements are aligned within the Revit environment. Clarity of Detail: Contractors on-site can build directly from your details without frequent Requests for Information (RFIs). Software Agility: Ability to pivot between Revit and AutoCAD based on project-specific requirements.
