We love what we do, and there’s no reason why you wouldn’t want to join us! We are seeking an AT Welder to help keep Australia’s rail network safe and reliable. In this role, you’ll weld and join rail using aluminothermic welding techniques, ensuring track integrity and safe train operations. You’ll carry out inspections, prepare weld sites, and work closely with other rail teams to complete work safely and efficiently. The job is varied and hands-on, often in remote locations and all-weather conditions — but you’ll be part of a team that takes pride in delivering quality results. Job Requirements To be successful, you’ll share our values of Safety, Integrity, People, and Excellence, and bring: Demonstrated experience in track welding & following safety procedures pertaining to hot works. Certificate II in Rail infrastructure Current Aluminothermic Welding Units White Card, RIW and RSW cards, ARC SW, PTA SW desirable Ability to pass a CAT3 medical and Drug & Alcohol Screening Job Responsibilities Conduct track welding construction, repairs, and maintenance to required standards Complete risk assessments and Take 5s prior to tasks and report hazards on site Safely and effectively operate welding equipment as per operational requirements Check welding equipment capabilities and ensure compliance with safeworking rules Work under track protection rules following directions from Safeworking Supervisors Communicate effectively with the worksite team to ensure safe operations Act professionally and promote a safety-first culture at every opportunity Job Benefits At RMC, you’ll be part of a national organisation with a local feel.
