Location: City of Melville Operations Centre Salary: $74,596.07 p.a. 12% Super Employment Type: Permanent Full Time About the Role As an Arboriculture Maintainer with the City of Melville, you will play a key role in supporting the care, maintenance, and long-term sustainability of the City’s urban forest. Working within the Arboriculture team, you will assist qualified arborists in delivering a range of tree management and maintenance activities across the City. Key Responsibilities Assist the Arborist with specialist maintenance activities including amenity and formative tree pruning, tree planting, specialised watering and fertilising, and identifying and treating pests and diseases Undertake tree audits and inspections and assist with auditing of arboriculture works Enter and maintain tree maintenance and audit data in the City’s tree management software Liaise with internal teams and external stakeholders regarding arboriculture maintenance activities Safely operate and undertake minor maintenance of small and medium arboriculture plant and equipment Support the training and assessment of plant and equipment competencies within the team Assist with job hazard analysis, reporting and maintaining safe work practices Implement basic traffic management where required Contribute to a strong safety culture and high standard of customer service Identify opportunities for improvements to systems, procedures and work practices About you You will be able to demonstrate following: Ability to work both independently and as part of a team Good communication and customer service skills Strong safety awareness Good problem-solving and time management skills A flexible, positive and proactive attitude Essential Requirements Current MR Class Driver’s Licence or MR Learner’s Permit White Card Desirable Requirements Certificate III in Arboriculture (or willingness to obtain) Basic Traffic Management Chainsaw competency Forklift (LF) High Risk Licence or willingness to obtain Manual Handling Certificate Current First Aid Certificate Basic computer skills for data entry and record keeping How to Apply Apply online via the Apply button and provide a comprehensive resume and cover letter (no more than 2 pages) demonstrating fulfilment of essential requirements outlined in the Position Description attached.
