Mining / Oil & Gas / Utilities Engineering & Maintenance Nyngan - NSW Permanent / Full Time Heavy Mining experience required $65 per hour on a 14/7 Roster, DIDO to Nyngan. $5k retention bonus Work on large Caterpillar/Komatsu/Liebherr mining equipment MacKellar is currently seeking experienced Diesel Fitters / Mobile Plant Mechanics to join our maintenance team on a project near Nyngan NSW. This is a DIDO position on a 14/7 roster, with accommodation and meals provided onsite, offering strong earning potential and long-term project stability. You’ll play a key role in maintaining a modern fleet of heavy earthmoving equipment, ensuring maximum reliability, availability and safe production outcomes. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality mechanical maintenance across a fleet of heavy mobile plant. What’s On Offer: $65 per hour 14/7 roster | 12-hour shifts Approx. $180K annual earnings (subject to hours worked) $5,000 retention bonus DIDO to Nyngan with accommodation and meals provided Work with a reputable contractor known for maintaining equipment to a high standard Strong safety culture and supportive leadership team Your duties will include: Preventative maintenance and breakdown repairs on heavy earthmoving equipment Component change-outs, major overhauls and fault diagnostics Scheduled PM servicing, daily machine inspections and refuelling Maintaining equipment in line with site safety and maintenance standards Completing maintenance tasks safely, efficiently and within allocated timeframes Working both independently and collaboratively within a professional site-based team To be successful in this role, you will have: Trade qualification as a Heavy Duty Diesel Fitter or Mobile Plant Mechanic Demonstrated post-trade experience on heavy mobile plant Current Driver’s Licence Experience working on Caterpillar equipment (highly regarded) Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills A proactive safety mindset and commitment to safe work practices The ability to adapt quickly within a project-based environment About MacKellar: MacKellar is an industry leader in mining and civil earthmoving, with over 50 years’ experience supplying and maintaining large fleets of heavy equipment across Australia.
