An opportunity has become available for an experienced Safety & Compliance Officer to join their Gold Coast-based team. This role sits within a small specialist team of three , while also being part of a broader, collaborative People & Culture function . The Opportunity Reporting into the Safety & Wellbeing Manager, this is a hands-on, influential role where you will take ownership of workplace safety and compliance frameworks, ensuring best practice across a diverse, community-focused workforce. You will work closely with leaders at all levels, providing expert advice while driving a proactive and positive safety culture. Key Responsibilities: Assist with the coordination of internal and external audits , accreditation processes, and corrective actions. Identify organisational risks and maintain risk registers and compliance documentation. Lead incident investigations , including root cause analysis and recommendations. Analyse safety and compliance data to drive continuous improvement initiatives. Promote a strong, embedded safety culture across the organisation. Design and deliver training and education to build staff capability and awareness. Provide expert advice, coaching and mentoring to senior leaders and managers. Maintain clear reporting and effective communication with internal and external stakeholders. About You Proven experience in safety and compliance within the community services sector . Strong knowledge of WHS legislation, accreditation and regulatory requirements. Confident communicator with the ability to influence and engage at all levels. Analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into practical improvements. Highly organised, proactive and comfortable working autonomously within a small team.
